The kayaks have been selected for their stable nature, this is to ensure a comfortable journey for all participants.
They are a sit on top variety so they are easy to get into and out of. These kayaks are difficult to capsize because they have a wide flat bottom, which is perfect for sightseeing tours to allow you to take in all the scenery and wildlife without the concern of falling out.
In the unlikely case of an emergency the guide will issue instructions which need to be followed.
Age and Fitness
The tour is suitable of any person over the age of fourteen.
Anyone under fourteen years of age must be accompanied by an adult in a group/family booking (one adult per child is required).
Participants must be able to sit in a kayak for extended periods of time (over one hour).
Participants do not need to have kayaking experience, all techniques will be demonstrated before the tour commences. Participants do need to know how to swim.
Kayaks are only suited to persons under 140Kgs weight.
Tour Size/Group Bookings
A small group size enables a safe interactive tour that has little impact on the environment and we cap our standard tours at a maximum of 6 participants. Larger group bookings can be arranged.
Groups and families can book out the tour if they have four or more participants, and the itinerary can then be tailored to the group.
School bookings – our instructor is a qualified canoe guide and holds a current blue card in order to take school group bookings.
